Globetrotting through London - Day 5 - Richmond

Cholmondeley (pronounced Chom-lee) Walk

For Bruce’s 2nd travel planning day, he planned a trip to Richmond where the television show “Ted Lasso” was based. Like many people in the world, we loved the show "Ted Lasso" for it's upbeat and positive message "Believe". We used our phones and took a free walking tour around the quaint town that pointed out different places and shots from the show. I took several photos, but tried to be respectful and not take photos of personal residences and some businesses.  I have included a few photos of where various scenes were shot.

The Thames River walking path. Season 2

Season 1

It was nice to get out of the city.  There were still plenty of people walking about since it was a Sunday. We made our way to a river walk and were teased with the possible sighting of seal, but no luck this time.  The days of walking and exploring were weighing heavy on us.  We knew we were tired, but also we have an explorer’s heart and wanted to take in as much as we could.  We refueled ourselves at The Slug and Lettuce restaurant and yes, again, we sat river side.  The food was good, but I did partake in their 2 for 1 cocktails which may have been a mistake.  The drinks certainly did not lighten my feet. After lunch, we found another park along the river where I decided to lay back and rest while watching the clouds go by. I may have briefly fallen asleep. I opened my eyes to darkening skies.  I texted Bruce who was sitting on a bench that was about 100 feet away, but I didn’t have the energy to call out to him. We agreed to try to avoid the rain drops and get back on the Tube head to our hotel.

Once we were back to the hotel, we freshened up and walked down the street to an English Pub, The Stanhope Arms and watched a football match while enjoying a snack and a couple ales.  I am not a beer drinker, but they had a delicious berry ale that I tasted and was very good.  I stayed safe with my wine of the week, a Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. We finished the evening with a nice walk around the one area of south Kensington that we had not yet seen.  Then we tucked ourselves in early because we had an early morning scheduled for our last day.
