Continuing the Process

We finally finished our Kitchen project and I love it! Our kitchen has been a work in progress since we first moved into the our house in 2013.  In the beginning it had dark almost orange cabinets from the 1960's, a linoleum patterned floor with an eat in kitchen with a desk area and 2 closet areas with bifold doors.  One was a catch all area we used for household cleaning items and oversized kitchen appliances and the other was a basic closet style pantry.   Original Kitchen Slowly and as money and time permitted, we upgraded the area.  Before we moved in we laid wood laminate down.  In 2019, we refinished the cabinets.  They were built by hand by the original owner and we solid.  Just very outdated.  We discussed replacing them with an updated style, but could not find the same quality.  We decided to strip and paint them.  Money was tight so instead of replacing the countertop, we also refinished that as well.  We took out t...

Busy Living Life

James Taylor Concert - June 2025 A proof of life post. I can't believe that I have not posted since the end of June.  The summer season is a busy one.  When the temperature climbs up that tends to mean I go outside and enjoying the yard.  It is also the busy time for my husband's business and I do my best to help him organize his requests and client schedule. My youngest daughter has also moved in with us after graduating with her Master's Degree until she begins her career. And yes, I do travel.  Why do I type that with a bit of apology in my tone?  It likely comes from the sighs of response I get when I offer our excuses for not being available for an event or gathering.  Camping isn't what it once was at least in the State Parks or National Forests.  Reservations are required, especially when camping in an RV or travel trailer.  I reserve our spots 6 months in advance.  So life is just busier in the summer.
